MY JOURNEY

Trikonasana Pauline Klemberg

My relationship with health and movement started long before I became a yoga teacher. As a child, I was often unwell, which sparked an early curiosity about the body and about finding natural, sustainable ways to feel well. I became fascinated by medicinal plants, nutrition and the many ways we can take care of ourselves.

Yoga eventually became an important part of that journey. I have practised for over 25 years, and it has always given me something I value deeply: strength and mobility, but also calm, challenge, confidence and a sense of curiosity. It has always been both physical and intellectually engaging.

Over the years, practising yoga in different countries with many different teachers also taught me what I didn't want from yoga. Some practices felt repetitive; others focused heavily on performance without enough preparation, which could feel intimidating. Others relied on an esoteric language that simply didn't resonate with me.  A turning point came when I discovered a studio in Hong Kong founded by Indian teachers who had grown up with yoga. Their approach was intelligent, progressive and deeply grounded in the body. There was a richness and creativity in the movement, but also great simplicity and gentleness. There was no emphasis on ego or on achieving the “perfect” shape — instead, there was a genuine curiosity about how the body works.  I was captivated.

After first discovering how much I loved teaching through my Kids Yoga training, I decided to deepen my own education and become a teacher.  Since then, my journey has taken me across countries, cultures and different professional worlds, from Paris and London to Hong Kong and Singapore. Along the way, I have completed extensive training with both Eastern and Western teachers and developed an approach that combines my love of yoga with anatomy, functional movement and a strong belief in individual adaptation.

Today, I teach to help people understand their bodies rather than simply follow shapes. I want movement to feel accessible, purposeful and rewarding — a place to build strength and mobility, explore curiosity and develop confidence, both on and off the mat.
